Grants of up to $25,000 are available to nonprofit direct service organizations through the Community Foundation for the National Capital Region's Neighbors in Need Fund. Grants will be awarded to nonprofits whose primary purpose is to help low-income and disadvantaged adults and children meet basic needs for food, shelter, clothing, emergency financial assistance, and foreclosure prevention.
Priority will be given to groups experiencing an increase in demand for service (within the past 12 months) as a result of the current economic crisis.
