Charlene M. Dukes
Dr. Charlene M. Dukes is president of Prince George’s Community College, which serves 37,000 students with more than 200 degree, workforce development, and continuing education programs. Prince George’s Community College is the location of the Academy for Health Sciences and six additional early/middle college programs in STEM, teacher education, hospitality, and health sciences operated in partnership with Prince George’s County Public Schools. These programs allow students to graduate simultaneously with high school diplomas and associate degrees.

Dr. Dukes serves on the boards of the Prince George’s County Chamber of Commerce, the Biden Institute, the Institute for Higher Education Policy (IHEP), the Greater Washington Community Foundation, and Venture Philanthropy Partners. She has been recognized by Washingtonian magazine as one of the most powerful women in the DC region and as one of the 2016 Washingtonians of the Year. In 2018, she received the Minority Business Leaders Award from the Washington Business Journal and was inducted into the Maryland Women’s Hall of Fame in 2013.
