Brandon Tutwiler

I am inspired by the Meyer Foundation’s commitment to advance racial equity and social justice in the Greater Washington region. Having spent my formative years in the DC area, I have experienced firsthand how racial inequity exists here. I believe that working to dismantle inequity within every system it appears is critically important to ensuring the long-term future of the region for all who call it home.

As Finance Director, I ensure that the Meyer Foundation utilizes its financial resources in a fiscally responsible manner so that it can execute the mission of advancing racial equity and social justice in the Greater Washington region. Our grantee partners need us to remain financially solvent so that we can support the vital work they do.

Prior to joining the Meyer Foundation, I worked at a nonprofit focused on educating children of color on socially responsible travel and placing them in unique cultural-immersion experiences to develop them into global citizens. My time there exposed me to the racial inequities that exist abroad. At Meyer, I am able to support efforts to advance racial equity, starting here at home.

I joined the Foundation in 2019.
