Carmen James Lane Elected Chair of Youth Transition Funders Group

August 19, 2011

Carmen James Lane, senior program officer at the Meyer Foundation, has been elected to a one-year term as chair of the steering committee of Youth Transition Funders Group (YTFG), a leading national network of approximately 175 grantmakers whose mission is to help all youth make a successful transition to adulthood by age 25.

Ms. Lane has been a member of the YTFG steering committee since 2007. As chair, she hopes to build upon the momentum of YTFG’s 2011 Connected by 25 Summit by attracting new partners to the network and deepening YTFG’s work on cross-cutting issues such as employment.

Ms. Lane joined the Meyer Foundation in 1998 to lead an initiative to strengthen relationships between recent immigrants and established residents. She currently serves as senior program officer for Meyer’s education program area, with a focus on successful transitions to high school and post-secondary education, multiple pathways to graduation and post-secondary credentials, and education reform.
