Ms. Soto-Harmon was appointed CEO in 2010 after serving for six years as the organization’s chief operating officer. Prior to joining the Girl Scout Council, she served as senior vice president at First Book, a national children’s literacy organization; as deputy director of the President’s Interagency Council on Women at the U.S. Department of State; and as a senior director at the Fannie Mae Foundation.

She grew up in Latin America and the United States, and holds a bachelor’s degree from Drew University and a master’s degree in public administration from George Mason University.

“We are delighted to welcome Lidia to the board,” says Julie L. Rogers, Meyer’s president and CEO. “Her life experience as an immigrant, her current role as the leader of a complex and highly regarded nonprofit organization, and her experience creating innovative programs for underserved communities will bring many valuable perspectives to our board’s work.”
